i have nothing to say about the meta paintings.

I am working on a new style called meta painting (which I’m doing in parallel with my coloring pages), but a full description of the meta artwork will have to wait for its own article / manifesto sometime this spring.

For now, I just wanted to share a quick behind the scenes look at what I hope will be the first of these meta paintings.

Yesterday, I just finished painting this reflective golden picture frame within the split black/white canvas, and it was the most challenging and rewarding painting project I’ve done to date. It literally took weeks, but I’m quite happy with the result so far.

With this first step finally done, I’m ready to move into phase two (which I hope will be completed by the end of January) and I’ll share more about this painting/style then…
